Our roofers are on a mission for the highest quality materials and artistry. It has been part of our roofing company culture for the last 25 years in business and we have helped literally thousands of homeowners and will continue to for the next 25 or more. We’re the roofer with experience, we know that excellence in workmanship is the most important component to insure a long lasting roof. Often our roofers inspect systems that should have lasted a lot longer but due to poor craftsmanship are aging prematurely. Things such as nail placement, and sub-roof preparation are often overlooked but are crucial in a long lasting roofing system.
All of our roofing systems are installed according to the manufactures specifications and carry a written 3, 5 or 10 year warranty on workmanship in addition to the 10 to 50 year manufacturer warranty from the roofing product.
The History of Our Roofing Company
Founder Roger Sutter was born in San Francisco and attended Jefferson High School. He served on the USS James E. Kyes in the Vietnam War and was stationed at US Naval Activity Da Nang in 1965-1966. He started his roofing career in 1969 as an apprentice roofer for ACME roofing company in San Francisco and quickly worked his way up the ranks and became foreman.
In 1976 Roger and his wife Alice and their two young boys moved to Sebastopol from San Francisco. Roger went to work as a foreman for B & B (now Petersen Dean) roofing in Santa Rosa. After several years there, Roger was recruited to be a superintendent for one of the largest, successful roofing companies in a San Francisco project managing from large commercial high-rises downtown to residential roof jobs in Pacific Heights and the Presidio. He commuted from Sebastopol to San Francisco for 10 years but what he really wanted was to start his own roofing company so that he could support the homeowners in his own community and offer his high degree of quality work.
The Company Today
In 2011 Sutter Roofing & Sheet Metal incorporated and Roger’s son Nate Sutter was welcomed on as co-owner running daily operations. Nate comes to the company with many years of experience in Roofing and Gutter systems. He also holds a bachelors of Science degree in Business administration from the University of Mary. He has been a branch manager for several fortune 500 companies and we are honored and excited to have two generations of the Sutter family running the business.
